To be eligible for an energy audit and REAP grant, you need to be:

  • Agricultural producers with at least 50% of gross income coming from agricultural operations
  • Small businesses in eligible rural areas. Eligible area map
  • NOTE: Agricultural producers and small businesses must have no outstanding delinquent federal taxes, debt, judgment or debarment.

Rural Small Business

  • Is the business firm located in a rural area? (less than 50,000 population)
  • A city or town that has a population of greater than 50,000 inhabitants?
  • The urbanized area contiguous and adjacent to such a city or town, as defined by the U.S. Bureau of the Census using the latest decennial census of the United States.
